MegaFon Ural: Demand for Earphones Up 1.5 Times

25 October 2019 (09:09)

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, October 25, 2019. MegaFon Ural’s online store gets about a hundred orders placed by customers every day; the demand for earphones and hands free sets has been going up steadily in the last few months and is now 1.5 times higher than one year earlier, the telecom company’s press service reports.

‘Our Urals-based customers tend to send and receive voice messages increasingly more often and are now watching more videos than ever, and all of this 24/7. This naturally affects the way customer demand looks like. In addition to smartphones, earphones and hands free sets are now among our best-selling items. We also expect the number of orders for earphones to increase by New Year’s season,’ says MegaFon Retail Ural’s Director Alexei Bykov.

Shopping directly on one’s phone is another big trend. Online store customers prefer to make their choices here and now, so 61% of purchases get selected and processed from a mobile phone, which exceeds the figures for one year earlier by 11%. 36% of purchases get made on a computer, the rest get made on a tablet.

Gender wise, 43% of women customers now make their purchases online, compared with 57% of men. Every one in three orders placed by a Urals-based customer gets placed by someone in Yekaterinburg/Sverdlovsk Region.
