UrBC, Yekaterinburg, August 16, 2019. Sverdlovsk Region’s first 240,000-kg-strong BelAZ dump truck got assembled and commissioned at Kachkanarsky Ore Mining & Processing Enterprise (EVRAZ KGOK), EVRAZ Holding Ural’s Corporate Communications Center reports.
The vehicle got commissioned and sent to work in the course of a solemn opening ceremony attended by EVRAZ NTMK and EVRAZ KGOK Managing Director Alexei Kushnarev, the plant’s management, and EVRAZ KGOK employees.
‘The new, powerful dump truck will be used in our existing mines and at the opening of Sobstvenno-Kachkanarskoye Deposit in 2020. Two more similar dump trucks, with scoops 20 m3 big, will arrive before the end of the year as well,’ Kushnarev said.
The unit was made specifically to EVRAZ KGOK’s order and custom-fitted with a diagonal stair to ensure more comfort and safety for the truck operators. Every BelAZ unit gets tested at the manufacturing plant first, then gets disassembled and sent to Kachkanar on six different platforms. Once on the site, the trucks get re-assembled, tested, and adjusted for operation.
