4 October 2018 (09:35)

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, October 4, 2018. EVRAZ Holding’s Kachkanar Ore Mining & Processing Enterprise (KGOK) was founded fifty-five years ago this month; a number of festive events got coordinated at the plant to celebrate the occasion.

According to the company press service, a museum site got opened at the Main Quarry. The exhibition features mining equipment and samples of minerals collected from the nearby mines of Gusevogorskoye Deposit. Among other things, you can see a BelAZ truck wheel, a pair of rail wheels, and the scoop of EKG 10 excavator unit there. The museum is now located just where the plant’s first dispatcher station and the first observation deck used to be.

The plant also focused on the achievements of its best workers and long-service employees. More than a hundred former and current workers got honorary certificates and thank-you letters, including ten people who were also granted the title of Best Foreman and three people who also received EVRAZ gold and silver badges.

‘The company has a rich history and is home to quite a few technologies that got first mastered here. We are proud of and have been contributing to the foundation laid by the plant’s first workers. KGOK now makes 59,000,000,000 kg of ore a year; the plant’s development strategy covers both introduction of new, advanced technologies and highly productive vehicles. Our next goal is to develop our Sobstvenno-Kachkanarskoye Deposit and invest in more powerful BelAZ trucks (freight capacity: 220,000 kg) and excavating units (scoop capacity: 20 m3). This is the best present the plant could get on its 55th birthday,’ says EVRAZ Vice President and Head of EVRAZ Holding Ural Denis Novozhenov.
