UrBC, Yekaterinburg, May 30, 2019. New equipment arrived at EVRAZ Raspadskaya Coal Company’s Raspadskaya Mine. The company now has two new JOY cutter-loaders, two EBZ-160 tunneling machines, and one Sandvik pulling unit.

According to EVRAZ Holding’s press service, the cutter-loaders will get assembled within two new coal-faces (4-6-35 and 5а-7-34) that will get launched before the end of the year. The equipment will get operated by Stanislav Kovtunets’s team (Section 10) and Alexei Ivanov’s team (Section 17).

‘Our new EBZ-160 machines are meant to get used on tough rock. The miners and the manufacturer’s representatives have already checked and assembled the first unit. It’s been confirmed that the machines are both reliable and perfectly suitable for Raspadskaya Mine’s geological conditions,’ the press service says.

The tunneling machine is almost fully automated and can get operated both directly and remotely. This is the first time a tunneling machine has been fitted with the coal-face control system, which makes the mining process safer.

Additionally, a multi-purpose load-haul-dumper is about to get delivered into the mine as well.

The new equipment was bought as part of EVRAZ’s job safety-enhancing investment program. The company invested over RUB 800 million in the appliances for Raspadskaya Mine.
