12 April 2018 (09:17)

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, April 12, 2018. Miners working at EVRAZ Holding’s Raspadskaya Mine made 2,000,000,000 kg of coal in the first quarter of 2018, which exceeded the figures for one year earlier by 372,000,000 kg, EVRAZ Holding Siberia’s press office reports.

All of Raspadskaya’s seventeen mining teams (three long-wall crew ones and fourteen drift crew ones) contributed to this output figure. Stanislav Kovtunets’s team from Section 10 proved the best, with output at nearly 695,000,000 kg. Alexei Ivanov’s team from Section 17 was only 10,000,000 kg behind.

‘Raspadskaya was Kuzbass’s first mine to produce 1,000,000,000 kg of coal as early as February and 2,000,000,000 kg in March. Incidentally, this is the year the mine celebrates its 45th launch anniversary. Our main focus, however, is on safety. You can see we are doing quite a bit in this respect, but there are still more measures to be taken,’ says Raspadskaya Coal Company’s Director-General Sergey Stepanov.
