UrBC, Yekaterinburg, December 13, 2019. Raspadskaya Mine's teams reached this year's target output ahead of schedule, extracting 6,500,000,000 kg of coal by early December. EVRAZ Holding's Raspadskaya Coal Company's management congratulated the miners on their success.

According to the company's press service, miners at Raspadskaya Mine worked on three different coalfaces this year, with three stoping teams at work. The mine produced up to 750,000,000 kg of coal every year. To ensure efficient extraction and stoping performance, four new highly productive cutter-loaders and tunnelling machines were purchased from the world's leading mining equipment manufacturers.

Raspadskaya Mine also invests in IT technologies, production expansion/upgrades, and safer working conditions.

'Raspadskaya Mine is one of our most advanced enterprises. The key to success is highly motivated people who do their very best at work. Raspadskaya Mine has a great future to look forward to: there are enough coal reserves to keep the miners busy for another hundred years,' says Executive Director at Raspadskaya Coal Company Andrei Cherepov.

Next year, the miners are expected to start working on a new coalface and do all the preliminary work at 210 meters below the ground to ensure better ventilation of the existing coalbeds. The company will also keep on acquiring new mining equipment. The miner's plan for 2020 is to extract over 6,000,000,000 kg of the valuable GZh coking coal.

Once it has been processed at Raspadskaya Processing Plant, the coal from Raspadskaya Mine gets supplied to metallurgical and coke-and-chemical-by-product-process enterprises in Russia, the CIS, and Southeast Asia.
