Raspadskaya Mine Turns 45

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, January 10, 2019. EVRAZ Holding’s Raspadskaya Mine (Raspadskaya Coal Company’s flagship quality coal-making asset) was launched forty-five years ago this month.

According to the company’s press service, a solemn ceremony took place at Raspadsky Culture Palace, with additional festivities for the workers on the site itself the day before. The plant’s 376 best workers and long-service employees received federal, local, municipal, and company awards. An ad hoc medal was designed in celebration of the special date and given to two hundred miners in the course of a solemn awarding ceremony as well.

Additionally, Raspadskaya.45, a book about the mine staff’s achievements came out; an exhibition called The Faces of Raspadskaya is currently open as well; the plant’s Honor Roll has been updated; and People’s Artist Oleg Gazmanov came with his show to Mezhdurechensk.

Vice Governor of Kemerovo Region for Industry, Transportation, & the Environment Andrei Panov, Mayor of Mezhdurechensk Vladimir Chernov, and Raspadskaya Coal Company’s Director-General Sergey Stepanov all congratulated the miners on the anniversary.

‘Raspadskaya is a very advanced mine. Even at the design and construction stage, it looked grand-scale and highly developed, and nowadays this is a modern coal-making enterprise that meets the strictest global standards and can boast great team spirit,’ Stepanov said.

Some production records were also set around the special date. Alexei Ivanov’s team from Section 17, who produced 2,000,000,000 kg of coal between January and December 2018 and 806,000,000 kg in just one month (November 2018), proved Raspadskaya Coal Company’s record-setters. More than 260,000,000,000 kg of coal have been extracted from the mine in the last forty-five years; there are currently over 2,000 people working at Raspadskaya Mine.
