17 December 2018 (09:19)

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, December 17, 2018. EVRAZ Holding’s Raspadskaya Mine was founded forty-five years ago this year. To celebrate the special date, an exhibition entitled The Faces of Raspadskaya by the author of Russ Press Photo Vassily Prudnikov opened in Mezhdurechensk, Raspadskaya Coal Company’s PR Department reports.

The exhibition features sixty unique works that have never been previously published. The photographs were taken for Raspadskaya.45, a book that came out in the legendary enterprise’s anniversary year as well. Following the presentation, several copies of the book were handed over to Mezhdurechensk libraries, the local natural history museum, and schools.

‘The book and the photographs depict miners from Raspadskaya mine. The new technologies may have changed the way miners work, but a miner’s job is still one of the most complicated ones out there and still requires plenty of commitment. The art works show Raspadskaya miners with their emotions, their joys and sorrows, heading for their shifts, dealing with work issues, and producing coal,’ the company employees say.
