Yekaterinburg Arena 90% Ready

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, September 28, 2017. Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Evgeny Kuivashev held a work meeting with Sinara Group’s Director-General Mikhail Khodorovsky in order to discuss the construction of Yekaterinburg Arena; the stadium should be ready in time for the World Football Championship 2018, Sverdlovsk Region’s Information Policy Department reports.
Kuivashev said this is the sixth time FIFA representatives and Russia 2018 Coordination Committee members are inspecting the stadiums across the country.
‘The stadium is nearly ready, I’d say everything is 90% complete. We are currently working on perhaps the most challenging part of the project that has to do with security systems, media infrastructure, interior finishings, and facade lightings (which, as the locals might have noticed, are already getting tested at nighttime). These are all extremely sophisticated jobs, yet they are all being completed on schedule. Our experts also prepared the pitch for the winter in full compliance with the schedule and the existing technologies. I’m confident the pitch will be fully ready for use in the spring,’ Khodorovsky said.
He also added that the construction jobs were going ahead of schedule, so the stadium might actually get commissioned well before the deadline.
‘We’ll try to make sure our stadium is the first finished building among all the sports facilities that are being put up in time for the World Cup,’ Khodorovsky said.
