UrBC, Yekaterinburg, July 12, 2017. Russian President Vladimir Putin paid a visit to Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) and Sinara Group’s united stand at Innoprom 2017 International Industrial Exhibition. Chair of Sinara Group and TMK Board of Directors Dmitri Pumpyansky informed the President about the projects featured at the stand, the company press service reports.
Pumpyansky said that their Yekaterinburg Arena Stadium, currently under construction in time for the World Cup 2018, would be big enough for 35,000 visitors and was in many ways a unique project. For one, with construction costs at only 12bn RUR, this is the least expensive facility being put up for the world football championship. Also, the stadium is situation very close to the city’s downtown area where sports playgrounds and facilities were housed as early as 1900.
It was for this reason that the developers decided to put up a new arena inside the historic facade, which is part of the city’s architectural heritage. The builders use the most up-to-date construction technologies and 90% of materials come from Russian suppliers. Sinara Group’s top executive pointed out that they were 1.5 months ahead of schedule, and the stadium would get commissioned before the end of the year.
