EVRAZ to Direct 300m RUR to Raspadskaya Mine
10 March 2017 (12:54)
UrBC, Yekaterinburg, March 10, 2017. EVRAZ Holding’s Raspadskaya Mine is getting ready to introduce its new flotation technology to process the complicated K and KS coals with under-15-mm grade. The company intends to direct more than 300m RUR for the purpose, EVRAZ Holding’s press office reports.
The fine K and KS coals didn’t use to get processed at the mine at all and were only partially added to the concentrate mixture instead. The flotation technology will mean the two coal types’ ash content and humidity parameters can get improved considerably so that more of them can get added to the end mixture. As a result, the overall output of ready K and KS coal concentrate will rise by 3%.
Flotation means some smaller hard particles can get extracted from the work liquid, with the particles floating on top and the excess rock sinking to the bottom.
