UrBC, Yekaterinburg, October 18, 2019. EVRAZ Holding’s Raspadskaya Coal Company intends to upgrade Abashevskaya Processing Plant and Kuznetskaya Processing Plant, allocating RUB 300m for the purpose.
According to the company’s press service, a new cell facility has been launched at Abashevskaya Processing Plant to enable the full coal processing cycle (including particles up to 0 mm small). The facility has two modern cells, two pressure-tank filters, pumps, compressors, and ancillary equipment.
‘The use of floatation techniques has meant the ash content in the smaller coal particles rose from 20% to 45%. Our goal for the future is to ensure up to 80% of ash content and to keep increasing our ready coal concentrate output by 1.8% a year on average,’ the press service says.
A new, up-to-date pressure-tank filter has been launched at Kuznetskaya Processing Plant; the new appliance removes excess moisture from the coal concentrate at the speed of 30,000 kg an hour, which is twice as good as the productivity of the two old suction-type filters it came to replace. Thanks to this new piece of equipment, Kuznetskaya Processing Plant eliminated fine concentrate loss, reduced fuel and energy spending (as less is required to dry the concentrate up), and improved working conditions at the processing department.
