January 15, 2015. Russia’s Accounts Chamber announced it wasn’t happy with the speed of putting up University Techno Park in Yekaterinburg.

According to the Chamber’s press service, three out of eight Russian hi tech parks, including University Techno Park, are not complete enough to host resident companies there. Besides, the park in Yekaterinburg has no performance indicators to prove the project is being implemented.

Now University Techno Park is on the national special-purpose investment list for 2014-2016. The project covers for the construction of a scientific research/educational cluster, that is, Ural Federal University’s new campus, University Techno Park, an industrial park, a technological development zone, and an industrial zone.

The first construction stage will cost 1.5bn RUR to complete, with 1bn RUR directed to the buildings and some 500m RUR directed to engineering infrastructure.

651m RUR should be provided for the project from the federal budget, with slightly over 845m RUR to be supplied from Sverdlovsk Region budget.
