February 19, 2014. Sinara Pipe Plant (SinTZ, a member enterprise of Pipe Metallurgical Company) embarked upon the start-up and commissioning jobs for an upgraded version of AVS 63 tube pointer, Pipe Metallurgical Company’s press service reports.

‘The launch of the updated equipment will signify the completion of Russia’s first coiled tubing production meant for making pipes that are up to 24m long and can be used in the nuclear industry, the machine-building sector, and the fuel and energy sector. This investment project is part of the enterprise’s strategic development program that is targeted at expanding the range of cold-finished tubes it makes, improving its transport flow, and cutting down on the technological cycle,’ the company reports.

The investment project also included upgrading of the drawing bench, the cold-roll mills KhPT 55 and KhPT 75, the pipe shell inspection unit, the transfer bogies, and the non-destructive testing unit. Prior to this, the company had a new Ebner gas furnace, Bronx reeler, and Prestar shearing line installed. Then, a special driveway for loading the coiled tubes was built, and the railways and gates were modernized.
