UrBC, Yekaterinburg, March 7, 2019. ChelPipe Group completed its investment project on upgrading Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant’s Cold-Deformed Pipe Facility, the Group’s press service reports.
The Group’s member enterprise Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant (PNTZ) now has new stainless steel pipe treatment equipment supplied by the Czech company Prestar. The investment project required more than RUB 15 million all in all.
The modern treatment unit makes it possible to cut pipes (diameter: 83 mm to 162 mm) with very high precision and at a great speed. The investment project required more than RUB 15 million all in all. The entire process is fully automated, and it only takes a few seconds to change the settings for a new product type, which boosts the facility’s productivity by as much as 25%.
‘ChelPipe Group keeps working to upgrade the facilities for making promising and popular product types, which helps the company to remain the market leader. In 2018, ChelPipe Group was responsible for 66% of all the cold-deformed pipe shipments processed by Russian pipe manufacturers,’ says ChelPipe Group’s Tech Director Kirill Nikitin.
The launch of the new mill is yet another stage in the Group’s stainless steel pipe facility upgrade project. The company already invested RUB 200 million in raising output, improving quality, and cutting production costs of longitudinal stainless steel pipes for the nuclear and machine-building industries in 2016.
