May 22, 2013. Employees of Sinara Pipe Plant (SinTZ, a member of Pipe Metallurgical Company/TMK) took part in the first experimental-industrial landing of insulated casing and oil well tubing made from super-chrome steel at Bovanenkovskoye natural gas deposit. The SinTZ workers were on a testing team that had to provide the technological support for the enterprise’s new produce, TMK press service reports.
The production of casing and oil well tubing made from martensitic steel 13CrS, strength grade L80 and fitted with gas-proof premium joint threads TMK CS and TMK FMT was launched at SinTZ on an industrial scale for the first time in Russia.
These pipes are meant for use in the harsh climatic conditions of the Polar North in the course of producing natural gas and gas condensate with increased CO2 content. The pipes are located in the first section of the oil string at 50 to 200 meters below the surface and prevent the permafrost around the well from thawing and collapsing.
