July 10, 2013. The World Student Olympics will be broadcast on Russian TV and on the Internet via MegaFon’s telecommunication channels.
The mobile carrier reports that the channels have been offered by order of the primary broadcaster, Sports Broadcasting Non-Profit Organization, and by order of VGTRK, the channel that holds the rights to broadcast the Kazan-based Student Olympics on Russian television.
MegaFon offered VGTRK a resource that makes it possible to broadcast seven high-definition television (HDTV) signals. The games will be broadcast on Russia 2, Sport, Sport 1, and Fight Club.
The full versions of the opening and closing ceremonies will be broadcast by Russia 1.
Apart from TV broadcasts, viewers will be able to follow the games on the Internet via www.russiasport.ru, a site created by Sports Broadcasting Non-Profit Organization. MegaFon assigned the highest priority to the Internet traffic meant for these online broadcasts. This measure will secure good quality video and minimum delays regardless of how busy the network is.
