January 29, 2013. Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plant’s (ChTPZ) educational project known as The Future of White Metallurgy that was aimed at training blue- and white-collar metallurgical workers might win the prestigious HR Brand 2012 Prize, the company’s press service reports.

The Future of White Metallurgy is a unique educational program implemented within the framework of a public-private partnership involving ChTPZ, Sverdlovsk Region Government, and Pervouralsk Metallurgical School. The program is targeted at training highly skilled workers whose qualifications would meet today’s metallurgical industry requirements and who would be able to operate the most hi tech machinery. What is more, the project is meant to attract promising and energetic employees onto the plants and to enhance the prestige of the blue-collar jobs, the press release says.

This company project included putting up a training center on the premises of Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant (a part of ChTPZ Group); the center is fitted with modern labs, pipe-rolling mill simulators, and training apparatuses produced by the German company Festo and the Italian company Prosoft. Each student costs about 1m RUR to train. After the completion of the course, every course-leaver will be able successfully to operate the modern metallurgical equipment relating to three or four different jobs.
