ChTPZ Group signs corporate training agreement

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, November 3, 2015. ChTPZ Group signed a four-party agreement with Ural Federal University, Pervouralsk Metallurgical School, and Sverdlovsk Region Government to renew and expand its public-private partnership in the field of blue-collar cadre training. The Future of White Metallurgy Training Program is targeted at providing the country’s metallurgical sector with skilled workers.
The original agreement, signed five years ago, resulted in the entire infrastructure for the project such as a modern, 7,500-m2 training center with simulators supplied by Festo and Prosoft, a number of labs, some pipe-rolling mill simulators, and other practice apparatuses. The principle is that of a dual education system, with 60% of time spent practicing and 40% spent in the classroom. Students spend their internship time at the Group’s plants as well as the leading Russian oil and gas companies. Starting from 2014, the program’s best students are also eligible to study for a degree in Pipe Production Technologies & Equipment at Ural Federal University’s on-site chair. The point is to give them a chance to study without having to leave their workplace. Alternatively, those of the program’s alumni who have to serve their term in the Armed Forces can do so as one unit in the nearby village of Gorny Shchit.
The Group’s Training Center proved a key site for WorldSkills Russia’s development. The very first championship was held there in 2012; first prizes went to the program alumni Alexander Litvinenko and Arthur Islamov, who then competed at WorldSkills International as part of the Russian national team.
