Abagurskiy subsidiary of Evrazruda starts overhaul of ore-handling bridge

12 July 2006 (12:56)

Experts of NSK-Novokuznetsk Ltd. and technicians from the processing shop of Abagurskiy sintering plant (subsidiary of Evrazruda JSC, an ore maker and part of Evraz Group) started the 25-day overhaul of their No. 3 ore-handling bridge, which should include renovation of the hardware, reports the spokesperson for Evraz Group.

The cracks in the bearing structures are to be given additional welding, and the structures themselves will be fortified, with the weak screws replaced by some high-strength ones. The overhaul also provides for a full examination of the parts with replacement of the obsolete and worn-out ones as well as for the examination of the motors and replacement of cables.

NSK-Novokuznetsk Ltd. acts as the general contractor, yet all the electric equipment is being fixed by the company’s employees. Such overhaul last took place two years ago.

While the overhaul is in process, crude ore will be unloaded by the ore-handling bridges No. 4 and No. 8 and two EKG-5A excavators.
