EVRAZ NTMK: Russia’s 1st Company to Make Entire Range of Crane Rails
11 February 2020 (10:47)
UrBC, Yekaterinburg, February 10, 2020. EVRAZ Nizhniy Tagil Integrated Metallurgical Plant (EVRAZ NTMK) started making crane rails of the KR140 variety. This means the plant’s rail and beam department now manufactures all five types of crane rails from KR70 to KR140, EVRAZ Holding Ural’s Corporate Communications Center reports.
In order to master the new rail type, the plant had to purchase new rollers and to develop and produce new sweep samples and designs. This rail variety is difficult to make because of its size and weight (150 kg per running meter). KR140 rails can work for large-size vehicles with freight capacity of up to 500,000 kg.
‘Our crane rails are among the products that result in the highest profit margin. Thanks to their great quality, we keep getting more orders for the product,’ says Managing Director at EVRAZ NTMK Alexei Kushnarev.
Crane rails are used for making railroads for pillar cranes, overhead travelers, and bridge cranes. Metallurgical enterprises and shipbuilding companies are the key customers for the product. EVRAZ NTMK makes the crane rails KR70, KR80, KR100, KR 120, and KR 140; every rail is 11 meters long.
