EVRAZ ORMZ Boosts Production Performance

12 December 2019 (09:10)

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, December 12, 2019. ORMZ, EVRAZ Holding’s plant in Osinniki, Kemerovo Region, made 1m m2 of lags in the eleven months of 2019, EVRAZ Raspadskaya Coal Company’s press service reports.

‘Lags are used by stoping teams for rock lining on a daily basis. Based on the plant’s experts’ calculations, the amount they produced should suffice for 92 km of mine work,’ the press service says.

The plant’s lag output increased dramatically due to some serious production upgrades and improvements in production processes. The plant’s employees made some engineering changes in the resistance spot welding unit meant for making WL-2000 lags. Also, a number of unique proposals made by the operators were also introduced into the process. All this boosted productivity and reduced idle time.

‘We now make 100,000 m2 of the product steadily every month and could make even more if necessary as well as fulfill customers’ orders exactly on time,’ says Senior Engineer at ORMZ Vasily Kurganov.

ORMZ is part of Raspadskaya Coal Company, which manages EVRAZ Holding’s coal-extracting and processing assets. The plant fully covers the company’s needs and fulfills external customers’ orders at the moment.
