UrBC, Magnitogorsk, November 21, 2019. MMK Group’s member enterprises won awards at the 25th Metal Expo 2019 International Industrial Exhibition for hi tech developments in the metal goods segment, Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) Information & PR Department reports.
For one, a gold medal went to a solution to do with production of coiled stock and large- and medium-diameter arc-welded pipes (strength grade K50-K52) that are particularly resistant to stress corrosion cracking during sulfur- and hydrogen-containing oil and gas transfer. The solution was developed by MMK in cooperation with I.P. Bardin Ferrous Metallurgy Research Institute (Chermet) and Ural Pipe Plant.
‘MMK Group’s MMK-METIZ also won a gold medal and a laureate’s certificate for the large-scale investment program on making metal goods. The program was adopted for the years 2017-2020, received more than RUB 5bn worth of funding, and is expected to result in the launch of 75 new hi tech equipment units for making hardware items, wire, ropes, and calibrated steel,’ MMK says.
MMK-METIZ also received Metal Expo’s silver medal for mastering the production of the GOST 2688-80-compliant compound-construction rope (diameter: 37 mm); the company was additionally awarded the exhibition diploma and a laureate’s certificate for mastering the production of hexagon nuts with flanges M6-M12 DIN 6923.
Finally, MMK Group’s Magnitogorsk Plant of Rolling Rolls won a silver medal and Metal Expo laureate’s certificate for mastering the production of small- and large-size rollers made from hypereutectoid steels with disperse powder materials.
