MMK Wins Awards at Archimedes

UrBC, Magnitogorsk, April 5, 2019. Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) won several medals and certificates at Archimedes, the 22nd Moscow International Salon of Inventions and Innovative Technologies, at the end of March, the company’s press service reports.
The salon’s board of experts and the international judges’ panel awarded MMK and Prometey Central Scientific Research Institute Of Structural Materials a gold medal and a certificate for their joint development, highly durable, cold-resistant steel. The two parties’ other projects, on production methods for cold-resistant steel sheets, on production methods for heavy-duty pipeline strips, and on making cold-resistant, weldable steel suitable for extreme conditions, got awarded a silver medal and a certificate, a bronze medal, and a bronze medal, respectively.
At the end of the forum, MMK also received a Thanks & Acknowledgements certificate for contributing to the organization and coordination of the event. The plant also received a certificate for promoting inventors’ efforts and supporting the legal protection of intellectual property in terms of both theory and practice.
The 22nd Moscow International Salon of Inventions and Innovative Technologies took place in Sokolniki Exhibition Center in Moscow on March 26-29, 2019. This year, more than three hundred organizations from thirty-five different countries and forty-four parts of Russia took part in the major international inventors’ forum. MMK presented its innovative potential with four new patented developments in the field of cold-resistant rolled metal goods for the icebreaking vessels, marine equipment, and engineering vehicles meant for use in the Arctic.
