EVRAZ Renovates Processing Plant at Kuznetskaya
15 August 2016 (13:39)
UrBC, Yekaterinburg, August 15, 2016. EVRAZ Holding’s Raspadskaya Coal Company completed renovating of a processing plant at Kuznetskaya Processing Factory in Novokuznetsk, EVRAZ Siberia’s corporate relations department reports.
The renovations resulted in improved coal concentrate quality and increased output (up to 60,000,000 kg a year).
‘In order to improve the coal concentrate quality, the entire processing routine had to be reorganized and a new deep-level processing section had to be added. A set of modern equipment — two hydro-clone units, spiral-coil separators, slurry centrifugal separators, and powerful pumps — makes it possible to process 0.2-2mm coal grains and produce concentrate with ash content as low as 8.5%,’ the company says.
‘Customers are very demanding about the coal concentrate quality these days, so the introduction of a new processing section at the factory allows for a more delicate and better quality coal processing, meeting the strictest ash content and humidity standards, and make a product that meets the most rigid modern metallurgical production requirements,’ says Raspadskaya Coal Company Director-General Sergei Stepanov.
The renovation project was embarked upon in 2015 and cost 150m RUR to complete.
Kuznetskaya Processing Factory makes the valuable GZh+Zh coal concentrate variety, producing 3,900,000,000 kg last year alone. The concentrate is supplied to EVRAZ Holding’s Russian and Ukrainian metallurgical plants as well as to outside customers.
