UrBC, Magnitogorsk, October 14, 2019. The Volunteer Society for Cooperation with the Army, Aviation, and Navy’s second Ural Federal District Motocross Cup competition will take place in Magnitogorsk on October 12. Some 70 sports players from Orenburg Region, Sverdlovsk Region, Kurgan Region, Chelyabinsk Region, and Kazakhstan (both professionals and amateurs) are expected to attend.

According to Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) Information & PR Department, Magnitogorsk hasn’t hosted any motocross competitions in the last three years because the old racing course on the left bank cannot get used any longer after new land regulations came into effect. However, a new location was found this year: a spot near a deserted beach in Veterans’ Park (a former venue for motorcycle soccer games).

‘A new 1,400-meter course was built there for the spectacular extreme sport that is motocross. The course has been used for practice quite a bit, but this is the first time an actual competition will take place there. The course is suitable for doing high jumps and has spectator stands. The course gets funded by Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works and the town council, who are the primary coordinators of the upcoming event,’ MMK says.

The solemn opening ceremony will take place at 11 Turgenev St at 12 PM on October 12, 2019.
