Magnitogorsk Students Wins in WorldSkills Russia

UrBC, Magnitogorsk, December 17, 2018. The local round of the 6th WorldSkills Russia championship took place in Chelyabinsk Region this week. Magnitogorsk schools hosted a number of the championship events, Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) press service reports.
Vocational schools in Magnitogorsk, Chelyabinsk, and Kopeysk also served as venues for the championship. 372 contestants from twelve different parts of Russia and from Kazakhstan competed in 34 primary, 16 junior, and 5 local categories.
Among the contestants were 32 students of Magnitogorsk Polytechnic, Magnitogorsk School of Technology, Magnitogorsk Teachers’ Training School, Magnitogorsk Medical School, Magnitogorsk State Technical University’s comprehensive school, and Magnitogorsk Construction & Assembly School. There were also five people working at Magnitogorsk Airport. As for the junior contestants, there were two high school students from School 20 and two contestants from the Children’s Arts Center. A half of participants from Magnitogorsk went to Chelyabinsk sites; the other half stayed at Magnitogorsk venues.
In the end, six Magnitogorsk students won in five primary categories.
