EVRAZ NTMK, EVRAZ KGOK Managing Director Alexei Kushnarev Is Investor of The Year

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, October 14, 2019. The Managing Director at EVRAZ Nizhniy Tagil Integrated Metallurgical Plant (EVRAZ NTMK) and EVRAZ Kachkanarsky Ore Mining & Processing Enterprise (EVRAZ KGOK)Alexei Kushnarev won the Investor of The Year Award for the construction of a new ball-rolling mill at NTMK, EVRAZ Holding Ural’s Corporate Communications Center reports.
The award is part of the Delovoy Kvartal magazine’s 10th Man of The Year Award. The last, and until now the only, time the Investor of The Year got selected was in 2015. Sverdlovsk Region’s Investment Agency suggested the nomination should be resumed this year.
‘Director-General at Sverdlovsk Region’s Investment Agency Alexander Porodnov said their choice of the winner was limited to projects in progress between September 2018 and September 2019. The judges’ committee looked into the companies’ achievements, contribution to their respective sectors’ development, the specifics of the project submitted for competition and this project’s importance for Sverdlovsk Region’s economy, and the companies’ goodwill,’ EVRAZ says.
The new ball-rolling mill got launched at EVRAZ NTMK in the third quarter of 2018. The mill is used to make seven different types of steel grinding balls (diameter: 60 mm to 120 mm; strength grade: 5) that only used to get manufactured abroad. The new ball-rolling mill facility resulted in 90+ new jobs, with all the employees undergoing in-company training.
The mill can make up to 135,000,000 kg of grinding balls a year. EVRAZ invested some RUB 1bn in the project.
