EVRAZ Puts up Ball Mill in Nizhniy Tagil

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, May 27, 2016. Nizhniy Tagil Integrated Metallurgical Works/NTMK (a member enterprise of EVRAZ Holding) completed the first stage of constructing a ball-rolling mill on the premises, EVRAZ Holding Ural’s PR Department reports.
The basic engineering preparations consisted in a number of preliminary jobs, the adoption of a general plan, and building the necessary equipment units.
The new ball-rolling mill will be located in the Rail/Beam Department, where all the old equipment has already been removed, the lighting has been replaced, and remodeling has been done. The mill will comprise a heating furnace, a rolling mill, a thermal treatment unit, an automated control system, and ancillary equipment.
The new mill will meant NTMK will be able to expand its product range with Grade 5 balls that are currently only made outside Russia. The plant has already come up with a unique thermal treatment technology to improve the product’s strength and hardness characteristics.
The mill is expected to be launched next year and will require some 1bn RUR worth of investments.
