UrBC, Yekaterinburg, October 8, 2019. Siberian State Industrial University coordinated a special Raspadskaya Coal Company Day on its premises; the company is in charge of managing EVRAZ Holding’s coal-making assets, their press service reports.

‘The introduction of Raspadskaya Classroom (a present in time for the university’s 90-year anniversary and the Mining Institute’s 70-year anniversary) was the key event of the day. Rector of Siberian State Industrial University Evgeny Protopopov and Executive Director at Raspadskaya Coal Company Andrei Cherepov cut the symbolic red ribbon in the course of the opening ceremony. Andrei Cherepov also presented Rector Protopopov with the key to the room,’ the press service says.

EVRAZ invested RUB 10m into the remodeling and furnishing of the classroom all in all.

‘The money was used to replace windows, air vents and heating and lighting fixtures. New furniture and advanced multimedia equipment got purchased as well. The classroom was designed by the university’s experts, who made sure the interior reminded one of the mining profession,’ Raspadskaya Coal Company says.

The first lecture in the renovated classroom was delivered by Executive Director at Raspadskaya Coal Company Andrei Cherepov, Job Safety, Industrial Safety & Environmental Issues Director Alexei Chervyakov, and HR Director Andrei Chirykin. The company’s top executives spoke about the innovations in their respective fields, EVRAZ’s benefits programs, and working conditions.

Siberian State Industrial University and Raspadskaya Coal Company have been partners for many years now. The college hosts open lectures given by the company representatives and coordinates professional workshops and master classes together with the company.

Raspadskaya Classroom is the second one EVRAZ Holding has invested in. Academician Ivan Bardin Classroom opened at the university a year ago.
