11 July 2019 (10:25)

UrBC, Magnitogorsk, July 11, 2019. The annual Ural Youth Forum/UTRO 2019 took place in Tyumen this week; young workers at MMK Group participated in the event, the Group’s press service reports.

The forum included Rosmolodezh’s all-Russian youth project contest as usual: 89 proposals, including 29 submitted by Chelyabinsk Region-based applicants, are now expected to receive grant funding (total amount to get granted: RUB 16m). This means the local winners will bring RUB 6.76m to Chelyabinsk Region to implement a series of social projects.

Two of the winners come from MMK: one of them, Dmitri Kazakov from MMK United Service Company, received RUB 700,000 to work on his local eco-tourism project and promote a responsible approach to the environment among children, teens, and young people in Magnitogorsk, the nearby parts of Chelyabinsk Region, and Bashkortostan. With his team, Kazakov intends to travel through the Southern Urals and remove offensive graffiti from the local mountains and caves.

‘A sandblasting appliance working under high pressure will get used to clean the caves with no damage to the walls. Kazakov’s team will also install information plates there, with the name of the cave/mountain and some details on when and how the place got cleaned,’ the press service says.

1,230 people from all over the Urals visited the youth forum during the ten days (two shifts) it lasted. The forum participants attended lectures, workshops, and master classes at twelve differently themed sites and pitched their ideas to experts in the grant contest.
