December 2, 2013. The employees of Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation took part in the 1st All-Russian Blue-Collar Youth Forum in Chelyabinsk that gathered together over 400 representatives of various Russian enterprises. According to the corporation’s press service, the holding employees won in professional skills contests that were held during the forum.

The event was coordinated by the Federal Youth Policies Agency, Plenipotentiary Representative of Russian Federation President in Ural Federal District Igor Kholmanskikh, and Chelyabinsk Region Government. The main idea behind the forum is to enhance the prestige of blue-collar jobs. The forum participants also talked about the ways to attract the young cadre to industrial enterprises and to keep them there. Following a three-day session, a number of proposals were made that will be accounted for in the Youth Policies Development Program for 2014-2025.

‘We fully realize how important the young staff are for the industrial sector. More than 24,000 skilled worker jobs were created over the last three years in Chelyabinsk Region alone. Enterprises are going through upgrades and re-equipment. The Russian Government gave us a challenging task of increasing the GDP by 1.5 times, and we’ll try to complete this task with active help from the younger employees,’ Chelyabinsk Region Prime Minister Sergey Komyakov said at the opening ceremony of the forum.

Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation was represented by four companies: there were six people from the head plant headed by the expert on young workers’ induction and training and Chairman of the Youth Council Alexei Gilmutdinov, ten people from Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant, six workers from Electromachine, and two employees of Uraltransmash.
