EVRAZ Directs RUB 6.5m to Social Welfare Project Grants

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, September 18, 2019. EVRAZ Holding is launching yet another round of its social welfare project grant contest in Nizhniy Tagil and Kachkanar, EVRAZ Holding Ural’s Corporate Communications Center’s PR Department reports.
Grant applications will be submitted on September 15-November 15, 2019, with the successful applicants getting selected in December after the candidates have presented their projects in person. The company has allocated RUB 6.5m for the purpose.
Applicants based in Nizhniy Tagil will be able to develop and present a project and get up to RUB 500,000 in project funding; those based in Kachkanar could get up to RUB 150,000 for their projects. The grant contest is open to non-profit organizations; town-run and private educational, healthcare, and social welfare establishments; culture and sports organizations; groups of private citizens; and individual applicants (with backing from a non-profit or a town-run legal entity).
There are ten areas to work on: educational/entertainment initiatives for children and young adults; job counseling; environmental events, tree-planting, urban improvements, parks, sports playgrounds and recreational sites; healthy living; culture and arts; family values, child-raising, and children’s rights protection; historic/cultural heritage and environmental tourism; support for the elderly and people with disabilities; smart digital technologies and social service announcements.
‘The holding has been coordinating these grant contests in the Urals for over a decade now. Some 200 projects on urban improvements, promotion of sports and family values, artistic pursuits, facilities for children’s and young adults’ development and recreation, and support for the senior citizens and people with disabilities, have been implemented so far,’ says Director of the company’s local charity foundation Elena Raudshtein.
Last year, the company sponsored 25 projects all in all (13 in Nizhniy Tagil and 12 in Kachkanar). Thanks to the grants, Nizhniy Tagil now has a sailing club once again, a children’s film is being made, there are free workout classes, the Urals’ first museum of birch bark arts and crafts opened in town, and a youth festival got introduced. As for Kachkanar, the town now has a pottery, School 6 launched its own intranet radio station, a kindergarten in Valerianovsk got a sensory garden, Stroitel Park got renovated, and a youth media center opened as well.
