UrBC, Yekaterinburg, July 8, 2019. EVRAZ Nizhny Tagil Metallurgical Plant (EVRAZ NTMK) supplied more than 3,500 Larssen sheet piles to the logistics terminal LUGAPORT in Ust-Luga in the Gulf of Finland in the Baltic Sea, EVRAZ Holding Ural’s Corporate Communications Center reports.
‘Larssen sheet piles will get used to set up artificial patches of land and eventually to build a shore in the area. EVRAZ NTMK provided its own special-purpose railcars to get the bulky cargo transferred safely to its destination. The metal goods got forwarded from Smychka, Sverdlovsk Railways, to Kotla, Oktyabrsk Railways, within a very short time,’ the Center says.
Now EVRAZ NTMK is Russia’s only enterprise to make L5 UM Larssen sheet piles.
‘The plant makes the sheet piles from non-alloyed steels as well as from steels alloyed with vanadium and copper; the alloys improve the product’s strength and corrosion-resistance parameters greatly, which is what the customers are interested in,’ says EVRAZ Holding Ural’s Sales Director Valeriy Smirnov.
