UrBC, Yekaterinburg, May 28, 2019. EVRAZ West-Siberian Metal Plant (EVRAZ ZSMK) and EVRAZ Nizhny Tagil Metallurgical Plant (EVRAZ NTMK) produced more than 3,000,000 kg of heavy-duty rolled metal goods for Baikal Sports Center in Irkutsk. The metal goods were delivered onto the construction site by EVRAZ Metall Inprom; there are more shipments to follow.

According to EVRAZ Holding Siberia’s Corporate Communications Center, EVRAZ ZSMK’s thermally treated reinforcing bars A500S (diameter: 10-35 mm) are being used to reinforce the metal structures at the stadium. EVRAZ NTMK’s hot-rolled H-beams in the 20SH1 to 60SH3 range are being used to make the bearing structures and inter-floor covering of the building.

‘EVRAZ ZSMK’s A500S reinforcing bars are the most universal product there is in terms of application in the construction industry. The bars rank very high on both durability and plasticity, which means the reinforced concrete frames they are used in are very sturdy and shock-resistant,’ the company says.

EVRAZ NTMK’s extra strong H-beams get made from vanadium-alloyed steel, which makes them suitable for extremely low temperatures and for heavy-duty building structures. With EVRAZ NTMK’s H-beams, it takes 5% to 15% less metal to put up a building frame, which cuts down on the cost of a construction project.
