EVRAZ NTMK Sells New Metal Piles

3 February 2017 (13:45)

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, February 3, 2017. EVRAZ Holding’s Nizhniy Tagil Integrated Metallurgical Works (NTMK) delivered its new type of sheet piles to customer in Volgograd Region; the piles will be used to repair Sluice 5 of Severnaya Dvina Sluice System, EVRAZ Holding Ural’s press office reports.

The plant made and shipped to customer around 2,000,000 kg of 5UM Larssen sheet piles and 40Sh1 I-beams.

‘These are new on the Russian market and, stronger than their earlier counterparts, and can compete with the European heavy-duty sheet piles and pipe piles.

This new addition to our product range means EVRAZ can now enter new market segments,’ the press office says.

The company reports their sheet piles are better than the heavy-duty ones in many respects: they need less metal to make and require a smaller construction pit, which, in turn, cuts down on the production time. Also, no extra anchoring is needed in some cases, which means there are fewer jobs to handle and less money to spend. Besides, as the entire sheet pile unit is wide and thick enough, no anti-corrosion coating is necessary.
