MegaFon, Saint Petersburg State University To Set Up Digital Lab

UrBC, Moscow, June 7, 2019. MegaFon and Saint Petersburg State University signed a strategic cooperation agreement this month and are going to set up a digital laboratory together, the telecom company’s press service reports.

‘The lab will test and design 5G digital products, which covers research on the 5G network radio-frequency spectrum and interfaces, data transfer speed, and signal propagation delay; resource management; grid computing; and much else besides,’ the company says.

MegaFon will support the university in selecting suitable areas of research and subjects of graduation theses; the two parties will also work together on special-purpose learning courses, help train the professionals with the specific needed skills, and develop training programs for the much-needed digital economy workers.

‘Saint Petersburg University has enormous research, scientific, and educating potential. This potential can be revealed much more efficiently in cooperation with a business with plenty of resources and practical experience. Our 5G lab will have everything one needs to use the theoretical expertise to work on actual business cases with MegaFon’s experts’ support.
