MegaFon Ready to Invest in Ural Startups

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, March 22, 2019. The digital opportunity company MegaFon announced it was prepared to invest in the Ural-based startups as part of the EKB Startup Day program on March 23, the telecom company’s press service reports.
IT businesses are invited to join the EKB Startup Day conference coordinated by the Internet Initiatives Development Fund (IIDF) with MegaFon’s support. Yeltsin Center will host the event for the tech market players, investors, venture angels, and corporations. The conference participants will be ale to look at the market leaders’s success cases and learn about their best practices. There will also be a pitch competition (sixty-second presentations of a project). The event is free to attend.
‘MegaFon has grown into much more than an Internet service provider. We support tech startups and new products that can change the market, and we are interested in doing business with the smaller companies to create a better IT ecosystem and introduce new digital opportunities for our customers. We already have an investment program at Skolkovo and work with tech parks such as Innopolis, for example,’ says MegaFon Sverdlovsk Region’s Director Inna Dzhur.
According to Chair of the Internet Initiatives Development Fund’s Ural division Mikhail Avdeyev, over 50% of all venture investments get directed to IT businesses these days.
‘This is a very popular field, so we invite everyone who has to do with IT, development, and technologies to join our conference. This is the Urals’ largest IT event with more than twenty invited experts. This Saturday, March 23, you can learn how to win the support of one of the Big Three national ISPs, how to work with market leaders, and how to reach the break-even point or make hundreds of thousands a day,’ Avdeyev said.
