EVRAZ Holding Ural Directs RUB 900 Million to Job Safety

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, March 21, 2019. EVRAZ Holding Ural’s member enterprises improved working conditions for 4,000 metallurgical workers and miners last year. The company directed more than RUB 900 million to job safety and industrial safety in 2018, EVRAZ Holding Ural’s Corporate Relations Center reports.

EVRAZ Nizhny Tagil Metallurgical Plant (EVRAZ NTMK) had the interlocking system LOTO installed at six of its departments last year to make sure the equipment cannot get started accidentally during repairs. More than 700 personal-use gas sensors got purchased for twenty-four divisions at the plant. The company designed more than 400 step-by-step technological maps; and anti-vibration seats got installed at the bridge cranes used in the plant’s beam-rolling department. Additionally, new vacuum cleaning dust-trapping units are now used at the coal preparation shop and the power station.

EVRAZ Kachkanarsky Ore Mining and Processing Enterprise (EVRAZ KGOK) introduced new lighting at its warehouses and the railroads in Drobilnaya Station; a new ventilation system got built at the railcar repair depot; operator seats at a number of bridge cranes and overhead cranes got replaced at three of the plant’s departments. Additionally, transmitter earphones got introduced at the crushing department to reduce the strain on the workers’ ears when they have to communicate from a distance.
