UrBC, Magnitogorsk, September 27, 2018. MMK Group’s member enterprise Magnitogorsk Metal Goods Plant (MMK METIZ) is currently implementing its large-scale investment program on mastering new metal goods types and doing production upgrades. The investments are estimated to amount to more than RUR 2.5bn, MMK’s Information & PR Department reports.

According to head of MMK METIZ Sales Management Department Marina Kholopova, who presented her report at the 7th All-Russian Wire 2018 Conference in Gelendzhik, the upgrades program will run from 2017 to 2019. The goal is to strengthen the company’s position as the leading supplier of customers in the metal-consuming Russian industries. MMK is working on several large projects at once in order to achieve its goal.

For one, a number of production facilities got launched in 2017 and 2018 that allow the plant to expand the range of hardware items on offer as well as improve their quality. The facilities in question are Taiwan-made, DIN М6-М12-compliant hardware-making machines that are used in the machine-building, instrument-making, and building industries. There’s also a special unit meant for manufacturing large-size hardware goods that includes a German hardening/softening machine for making heavy-duty M6-M30 hardware items and a Russian hot-dip galvanizing unit for zinc-coating М12-М36 ones. The launch of all these appliances has meant the quality of thermal treatment as well as the product range improved considerably. MMK METIZ has invested over RUR 400m in this particular project.
