MegaFon Ural Launches HD Voice
23 November 2017 (16:56)
UrBC, Yekaterinburg, November 23, 2017. The telecommunications provider MegaFon’s engineers launched second- and third-generation HD Voice technology in Sverdlovsk Oblast. HD Voice allows for better transfer of a particular speaker’s voice, their tone and intonation, as the available frequency range now comes to as much as 7,000 Herz. Thanks to this expanded audio transfer channel, the sound comes out more realistic and ‘live’, MegaFon’s press service reports.
HD Voice is supported by most smartphones and turns on automatically. You can enjoy better conversation quality with both MegaFon subscribers and those using other carriers as long as their HD Voice is on. The option comes at no extra charge.
‘Sverdlovsk Oblast locals spend over 300,000,000 minutes on the phone a month. Thanks to this new technology, this time will be spent listening to the most natural-sounding, well-toned voices of their nearest and dearest, which may be even a little unusual at first, as a matter of fact,’ MegaFon Ural’ Technical Director Anton Scherbakov says.
