20 September 2017 (13:59)

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, September 20, 2017. More than two hundred EVRAZ Holding employees took part in the All-Russian Green Russia Cleanup Day last Saturday, the company press service reports.

‘EVRAZ Holding’s Nizhniy Tagil Integrated Metallurgical Works (NTMK) keeps investing in urban development and improvements on the premises of Kuibyshev Plant/Museum, a great industrial heritage spot, for years now.’

‘This is the fifteenth time we are having a cleanup day in town. Our workers tidied up most of the plant’s premises, cut the old shrubbery and cleared up leaves and grass. An old, stone-paved pedestrian walk was found in the linden tree alley and got thoroughly cleaned,’ the press service says.

In the previous years, the workers tidied up the central entrance area, the former blast furnace department, and the boiler shop.

‘There are now new locations on our sightseeing map thanks to EVRAZ employees’ help,’ says Deputy Director of Nizhniy Tagil National Park Museum and head of Eco-Industrial Technopark Project Margarita Kuzovkova.

In Kachkanar, workers from EVRAZ Holding’s Kachkanar Ore Mining & Metallurgical Enterprise (old-service employees, youth council members and women’s union representatives included) all joined in the cleanup initiative. They tided up the embankments in the town’s Districts 8 and 9 and the shoreline next to the local helipad.

All the collected waste was taken to the designated landfills.
