EVRAZ NTMK Hosts International Metallurgical Contest

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, September 27, 2018. EVRAZ Holding’s Nizhniy Tagil Integrated Metallurgical Works (NTMK) will host the 9th International Cast Iron Metallurgy Conference on its premises on September 25-27. The event is coordinated by the International Blast Furnace Workers’ Union, MetProm, and NTMK.
According to the company’s press service, 180 workers and managers employed in the metallurgical, coke-manufacturing, and machine-building businesses, design office workers, and researchers from national and international research institutes will be contributing to the forum.
‘We are delighted to be welcoming the metallurgical industry’s leading experts here. EVRAZ has been investing actively in its blast furnace facilities’ production upgrades in the last few years. This year, for example, Blast Furnace 7 got launched that relies on the most advanced technologies available today,’ says EVRAZ NTMK and EVRAZ KGOK Managing Director Alexei Kushnarev.
Visitors to the event will be able to take a look at the plant’s Blast Furnace 7 on the last day of the conference. The furnace is designed to produce 2.5 tonnes of cast iron a year.
