Ural Vagon Zavod Expands Product Range

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, May 31, 2017. Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation got its APE 120 UVZ /T3 elastomeric unit certified for compliance with the TR TS 001/2011 Railway Rolling Stock Safety Requirements with support from its member enterprise Ural Railcar Building Design Office, the corporation’s head plant’s press service reports.
Units in the T3 category are meant for freight railcars that are used to transport particularly hazardous substances. The units, developed at Ural Railcar Building Design Office, must be used, for reasons of safety, in Ural Vagon Zavod’s 15-5181 tank cars (meant for transportation of coke-chemical stuffs), 15-5183 ones (meant for liquefied anhydrous ammonia), and 15-588-01 ones (meant for liquefied hydrocarbon gas).
The technical requirements for the elastomeric unit’s design were agreed upon at the Railcar Committee’s expert board meeting. The unit was developed by Ural Railcar Building Design Office and manufactured at Ural Vagon Zavod corporation’s head plant in Nizhniy Tagil.
