Ural Vagon Zavod Gets New Railcar Certificate
28 June 2016 (13:19)
UrBC, Yekaterinburg, June 28, 2016. Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation got its tank-type railcar 15-5183 certified by the Federal Railway Transport Register, the company press service reports.
The tank is meant for transportation of liquefied ammonium and can be used on all the 1,520-mmm railways. The tank’s internal capacity has been increased to 3,200 mm/73.1 m3, which is much better than most of its counterparts currently used on the Russian market. The extra 11.5-m3 load option allows for an 18% reduction in the number of railcars a freight forwarder will need for the same amount of ammonium. This means the renting/purchasing costs will go down as well.
The new tank-type railcar was designed by Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation’s Ural Railcar Building Design Office. The first 15-5183 models will be shipped to customers at the end of June.
