29 March 2017 (13:20)

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, March 29, 2017. One of the world’s largest pipe manufacturers, Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) took part in the Earth Hour (the most large-scale environmental event on this planet) on March 25, 2017.

According to the company press service, all of their assets in Russia, the United States, Europe, and the Far East switched off the outdoor lighting for their buildings as well as all other non-production appliances.

The Earth Hour is the WWF-inspired international event where everyone is encouraged to switch off the lights for one hour to show they care for this planet’s future. This stands for sustainable use of natural resource and helps draw the general public’s attention to the need to grow responsible about the world around us.

Taking part in the Earth Hour is one of the key points on TMK’s list of its Environmental Year Program. In addition to large-scale green projects on the federal program, the company plans on a number of smaller environmental initiatives aimed at improving the environmental conditions for towns and territories the company operates in. Additionally, TMK will also involve its employees in special events for offices and plants’ administrations.
