May 21, 2013. The employees of Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant (a member of ChTPZ Group) took part in the international Clean Shores program. The Clean Shores days are organized two times a year at the initiative of EnviroChemie, a German company.
On these days, everybody takes part in a large clean-up; this year, the event took place in several parts of Russia as well as Lithuania, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. On May 18, Pervouralsk’s Nizhniy Pond and one of the world’s most beautiful lakes the Issyk-Kul were cleaned from all the waste, ChTPZ Group’s press service reports. About 60 m3 of waste was collected from the lakes of Nizhniy Pond, in fact.
‘I believe this is very good when everybody joins their efforts to clean up the area, for the result is immediate and obvious to all. It’s not only that the place becomes much cleaner, it’s also that we are investing in our future and solving environmental problems,’ says a Clean Shores program participant, an employee of Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant Evgeny Belousov.
As a matter of fact, Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant coordinated a large-scale clean-up day about a month ago; nearly 5,000 employees took part in the event then. They cleaned up 32 hectares of municipal territory and took away 2,000 m3 of garbage. This weekend’s event was attended by both the plant workers and people from such plants as SUMZ and Russian Chrome 1915, the online forum participants, and all those who wanted to join in.
