Ural Vagon Zavod Gets MoD Award

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, January 10, 2017. Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation’s head plant was given the Russian Federation Defense Ministry Award for complying perfectly with the state defense procurement requirements for 2016, the company press service reports.

The honorary certificate, signed by Deputy Defense Minister Yuri Borisov, states the award was assigned to the plant for its ‘great efforts to support and improve Russia’s defense capacity and to meet the State Defense Procurement Requirements for the year 2016.’

Ural Vagon Zavod did meet all the requirements ahead of schedule last year, making and delivering as many special-purpose and military vehicles and appliances as in the year 2015. The economic performance indicators and the gross output figures were actually even better than i n2015.

The plant worked on some ninety-plus government contracts in 2016, 70% of which are long-term ones. Also, ten R&D projects were carried out by order of the Defense Ministry, and over 1,200 new and upgraded vehicles and weaponry items got supplied to the Russian Army.
