Ural Vagon Zavod, Defense Ministry Land New Contracts

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, September 9, 2016. Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation signed as many as six important and promising agreements with Russia’s Defense Ministry on the second day of the Army 2016 Forum; these deals amount to over 8bn RUR altogether, the company press service reports.
This is the first time contracts got signed during an exhibition after the Defense Minister officially allowed this on August 4, 2016. The agreements were signed by Deputy Minister Yuri Borisov on the Defense Ministry’s behalf. On Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation’s part, two agreements were signed by Uraltransmash Director-General Vladimir Gorodilov (the one for the delivery of SP artillery unit 2S19M2 MSTA-SM and the one for capital repairs of SP artillery unit SAU 2S19 and its upgrade to 2S19M1); and one contract to supply spare parts for tanks was signed by Plant 9 Director-General Mikhail Matvienko.
Also, three more contracts were signed by the corporation DG Oleg Sienko. These agreements have to do with maintenance of T-72, T-80, and T-90 tanks and of BREM-1 and their modified versions, with capital repairs of infantry combat vehicle BMD-2K-AU, and with the delivery of the counter-obstacle vehicle IMR-3M. All of these agreements were related to Russian Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev’s decree on changes in the defense procurement plan for the year 2016.
