12 December 2016 (14:19)

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, December 12, 2016. Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation’s Rubtsovsk subsidiary met all of this year’s defense procurement requirements ahead of schedule, the company press service reports.

Under the terms of their three-year contract, the plant was to make eight PRP-4A mobile reconnaissance posts and six group set of spare tools and accessories to go with them as well as to repair 23 BMP-2 infantry combat vehicles. The products got commissioned by the plant’s military representative office and shipped and delivered to customer on time.

Ural Vagon Zavod’s mobile reconnaissance post is meant for reconnaissance of stand-alone/group, stationary/moving, and open/camouflaged targets (such as tanks, for example) for nonnuclear fire support, firing emplacement, and the Armed Forces’ artillery intelligence purposes. The post uses BMP-1 infantry combat vehicle as its base vehicle, which means higher maneuverability as well as increased travel speed and off-road capability. Besides, the machine can also handle water obstacles easily.
